Wrenn Slocum — Art and Textiles

I am an artist with a life-long love of textiles.  It began with the beautiful clothing my mother made for me as a child, then learning to design and make my own clothes, and finally connecting with weavers, stitchers and dyers in Africa and Asia. 

Cloth is an intrinsic part of our lives—warming, protecting, and providing comfort while also reflecting who we are and what we want others to know about us.  There is a soft, touch-me quality to cloth and textiles that few other materials have; a sensuousness that draws me in and begs to be used in new ways.
